Facilities managers, workplace teams and office managers
Ready for the rhythm of your workplace
Offices are judged on presentation and on the small things people use every day. A good scope reflects who is in the building, when, and what they expect to find.

Operational context
What shapes the scope
Occupancy drives frequency
Hybrid working has changed how offices fill up. Attendance may peak mid-week and fall away on Mondays and Fridays. Rather than one blanket frequency, a scope can vary by day and by zone so effort goes where people actually are.
Shared amenities carry the experience
Kitchens, washrooms and end-of-trip facilities are where staff form an opinion about cleaning. They usually justify a daily standard, and in larger buildings a daytime check, even where workstation areas are cleaned less often.
Presentation for visitors
Reception, client suites and meeting rooms are seen by visitors first. Presentation checks and a meeting-room reset standard are agreed separately from general office cleaning.
Access and security
After-hours cleaning depends on clear access arrangements: card or key control, alarm procedures, restricted areas and sign-in. These are documented before mobilisation and reviewed when the building's security changes.

Frequently asked questions
- What should an office cleaning scope include?
- At minimum: the areas covered, the tasks in each, the frequency by area, who supplies consumables, access arrangements, and how issues are reported. Periodic tasks should be listed separately with their own calendar.
- How do you adapt to changing attendance?
- Frequencies can be reviewed at agreed intervals. If attendance patterns change materially, the scope is adjusted rather than left to drift.
